For example, micro-holes in modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) can result in the formation of <strong>mold<\/strong>, <strong>color changes<\/strong>, and <strong>flavor alteration<\/strong>, which could trigger a product <strong>recall<\/strong> or <strong>withdrawal <\/strong>and result in <strong>economic losses <\/strong>and <strong>damage to the brand\u2019s reputation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The solution adopted and proven results:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To combat these risks, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scoiattolopastafresca.it\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">fresh pasta company <strong>Scoiattolo<\/strong><\/a> has implemented <strong>IR spectroscopy<\/strong> developed by Antares Vision Group with technology from FT System <strong>for in-line control<\/strong> <strong>of micro-holes<\/strong>. The machine also<strong> verifies that mandatory product information is correct<\/strong> <strong>on labels and barcodes<\/strong>, such as expiry date and lot code. An error in mandatory labeling data leads to a recall or the withdrawal of the goods from the market, affecting <strong>brand<\/strong> <strong>reputation<\/strong>, creating <strong>disposal<\/strong> <strong>costs<\/strong>, and even <strong>legal<\/strong> <strong>costs<\/strong> in the event of disputes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Raviolificio Lo Scoiattolo\u2019s decision to choose AV Group has proven to be wise:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company <strong>reduced<\/strong> <strong>instances of non-compliance<\/strong> due to micro-holes and incorrectly sealed packages by approximately <strong>45%<\/strong> (September-December 2022 vs September-December 2021).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cThe adoption of this solution was evaluated within a larger project aimed at improving production flows\u201d<\/em>, explained <strong>Giacomo Tamborini, Innovation &amp; EDP Manager of Scoiattolo<\/strong>. <em>\u201cWe chose the FT System inspection solution after analyses, discussions with Antares Vision Group and the operational staff in our packaging department, and various tests carried out on sample productions.
