The Genius® Orion G6 XL is the newest addition to the Genius inspection platform, engineered specifically for manufacturers who produce extra large-diameter, beaded food cans and require uncompromising accuracy at high line speeds. Purpose-built for 2- and 3-piece cans, the Orion G6 XL delivers continuous, 100% surface inspection to guarantee flawless print quality, consistent color, and complete brand integrity across every production run.
Equipped with six synchronized high-resolution cameras, the system captures a full 360° unwrapped color image of each can in a completely non-contact environment. Every image is automatically compared to a “gold standard” reference, enabling the detection of subtle defects such as color shifts, plate issues, registration errors, and overall print degradation. With integrated barcode verification delivering over 99.7% read accuracy, the Orion G6 XL ensures both decorative and code integrity in one streamlined solution.
Built for versatility and performance, the system handles can diameters from 99–153 mm and heights up to 237 mm. It operates at nominal speeds of 800 cans per minute, with burst capability up to 1500 CPM for smaller diameters — making it an ideal match for today’s high-throughput food canning environments. The horizontal, conveyor-integrated layout allows for fast, straightforward installation and seamless fit within existing production lines.
