For the 2022-2023 academic year, the Group is providing support for 13 PhD candidates at important Italian universities, confirming its vital role in scientific research. Representatives of the partner universities and researchers met last week at Antares Vision Group headquarters in Travagliato.
“The day was an opportunity to promote the concrete commitment of Antares Vision Group towards innovation and research, alongside new talents and some of the best university professors in Italy”, said Alberto Albertini, Director of the Antares Vision Group Innovation Center. “We are one of the most innovative private companies in the world, partnering with 13 PhD candidates working in the sectors in which we operate and in collaboration with top universities. Innovation is one of our founding values and we demonstrate it”.
The Group is supporting doctoral students at the University of Brescia, the Universities of Verona, Trento and Pisa, the Federico II University of Naples, the Catholic University of Milan, Brescia and Piacenza, in support of research in the field of innovation and development. It is also working with two newly formed National Research Centres, “Developing Gene Therapy and Medicines with RNA Technology”, “Agriculture Technologies – Agritech”, as well as a a public-private partnership called “L.I.G.H.T. — Lifescience Innovation Good Healthcare Technology” — which is promoting healthcare technologies with the University of Brescia.
“Without the support of the University, Antares Vision would not exist today”, said Emidio Zorzella, Chairman and Joint-CEO of the Group. “Innovation and research are a key theme for our growth, both at the service of industries and society. We ensure that the products we all use on a daily basis are of good quality, authentic, safe and sustainable”.
Most of the students’ research activities focus on digital healthcare, artificial intelligence, and Agritech, but they are also addressing food and beverage, drug inspection, gender equity, and literature. Through these activities, the Group is participating in the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP), which finances PhD scholarships for public administration, cultural heritage, and digital and environmental transition programs.
“Emidio and I met at university, driven by dedication to innovation”, recalls Antares Vision Group Co-CEO Massimo Bonardi. “From there our adventure started. We initially focused on the pharma sector, but have developed to include the food, beverage, and cosmetics, the sectors in which we concentrated our acquisition plan.”
In confirmation of the importance that the Group gives to research and training, in 2023, from February till May, in Antares Vision Group Headquarters in Travagliato, selected AV Group employees will attend a course dedicated to Artificial Neural Networks and Deep Learning. The course is held by Giacomo Boracchi, Professor at Dipartimento di Elettronica, Informazione e Bioingegneria of the Politecnico di Milano
