In-line control and correlation of serial codes applied to the body and cap
This innovative vision system enables the association of the main serial code, located on the body of the bottle, with the helper serial code applied to the top of the container (for example, on the cap).
In this type of application, each bottle is equipped with a unique serial number on the body of the container, facilitating tracking during all stages of production, distribution, and regulatory verification.
Additionally, an helper serial number is applied to the top of the bottle.
The system integrates two inspection modules:
The first module consists of six lateral cameras capable of capturing the image of the container’s development, even without fixed orientation, to identify and validate the main serial code.
The second module consists of an overhead camera that verifies and reads the helper code on the top of the container.
The two codes are associated, and the correlation is stored in a database to support subsequent phases, such as aggregation into secondary packaging, i.e., the creation of a parent/child relationship between the bundle/carton serial number and the serial numbers of the individual containers, identified by reading from the top the helper codes on the cap once they are inserted inside.
The system is compatible with various types of printing (laser, inkjet, etc.), including UV printing, which makes the code invisible to the naked eye to minimize aesthetic impact. In this case, the system includes a camera with a UV filter and a UV lamp for optimal acquisition.
