FAQ — BEVERAGE TRACK & TRACE
It is a complete system that assigns a unique digital identity to each sales item and every logistics unit, enabling identification throughout the entire supply chain. Key benefits include product safety, anti-counterfeiting, grey market deterrence, regulatory compliance, consumer engagement, and supply chain transparency.
The offering covers three interconnected areas: serialization, which assigns a unique serial code to each saleable unit; aggregation, which creates hierarchical parent-child relationships between all logistics units; and software, which centralises and manages all traceability data, integrating with ERP, MES and external regulatory platforms
Serialization is the first step in traceability: a unique serial number is applied to each sales unit, enabling its identification throughout the entire supply chain. Available solutions include complete in-line print and verification systems, control of pre-applied serial codes, and integrated modules to correlate codes on both the container body (main code) and the cap (helper code, useful for aggregation process).
Aggregation establishes a hierarchical parent-child structure among logistics units — item, bundle, case, pallet — using unique serial numbers. By scanning the code on an aggregated container such as a pallet, all units within can be instantly identified, significantly simplifying warehouse management, distribution and reworking operations.
Serial codes are applied to containers, such as bottle caps, using laser or inkjet printing. UV ink — invisible to the human eye — is particularly useful for minimising aesthetic impact on packaging design; in this case the system is equipped with a UV lamp and a camera with a UV filter for accurate code detection.
DIAMIND is Antares Vision Group’s integrated software ecosystem for managing product quality data and end-to-end traceability in the bottling sector. It adapts to every process requirement through modular activation, guaranteeing complete serialization, regulatory compliance and supply chain transparency across the entire value chain.
The architecture spans five levels: DIAMIND LINE manages serialization, inspection and aggregation at line level; DIAMIND FACTORY centralises production data at plant level; DIAMIND WAREHOUSE manages shipments, rework, de-aggregation and re-aggregation after the product leaves the line; DIAMIND ENTERPRISE handles communication with ministerial and regulatory platforms; DIAMIND CONNECT enables collaboration with all supply chain stakeholders, from suppliers to end consumers.
Through a traceability system using serialized codes (Datamatrix, QR code, NFC, RFID) on labels and caps, combined with software that monitors supply chain and sales channels. Serial numbers are linked to specific production batches intended for authorized retailers, enabling rapid identification of products that have deviated from the official distribution network. This is particularly relevant for high-value segments such as wine and spirits.
Yes. The DIAMIND platform manages registration with government traceability systems such as the Russian “Chestny ZNAK” for beer and water. It requests unique identification codes per SKU, receives encrypted codes from the regulatory platform and transmits them to in-line serialization units for application and subsequent aggregation up to pallet level.
By printing a dynamic QR code directly on the packaging at full production speed, consumers can scan it with a smartphone to access information on product origin, raw material quality, production techniques and sustainability. Interaction rules can be customised by producer, region and updated over time.
Antares Vision Group supports Digital Deposit Return Schemes (DDRS) using serialization to track container recycling, serialization of refillable PET bottles (REF-PET) to ensure traceability across the reuse cycle, and returnable assets management to monitor reusable logistics units such as pallets, crates and containers across the supply chain.
