FAQ — FOOD INSPECTION

It refers to the full set of technological solutions for quality and safety control of products and packaging along the entire production line. Inspection systems ensure production compliance, protect brand reputation and safeguard the end consumer, meeting the growing regulatory requirements in food safety.

They are designed for food companies of any size, from small businesses to large multinationals. The main interlocutors are quality managers, production managers, plant managers and R&D managers who need to guarantee high quality standards while improving production efficiency.

The inspection Systems are compatible with all major packaging formats: flowpack and bags, trays cardboard boxes, doypack and pouches, multilayer cartons (e.g., Tetra Brik®, Combibloc®, etc.) flacons, jars and bottles, metallic containers, skin and vacuum-sealed packaging, tubes, big cases, and other special formats.

nspection Systems cover products in horizontal packaging, vertical packaging, unpackaged products and granular bulk products, ensuring flexibility for the diverse needs of the food industry.

The main technologies include Vision Systems, Smart Cameras and Embedded Vision for optical inspection; IR Spectroscopy for micro-leak detection and gas analysis; X-Ray sensors, Metal Detectors and Microwave technology for foreign body and contaminant detection.

The portfolio covers the entire production line: empty container inspection, fill level control, cap inspection, seal inspection, in-line leak detection, weight control, label and code inspection, contaminant detection via X-Ray, Metal Detector and Microwave, gas concentration measurement in the headspace of packaging, and seam inspection for infant formula cans.

It is a fully configurable machine that integrates all required inspection technologies into a single system. It is an innovative solution that guarantees the full compliance of the entire production, while simplifying line management by reducing footprint and the number of separate inspection points.

Antares Vision Group offers three complementary technologies: X-Ray for bulk and packaged products in horizontal and vertical formats, in any type of packaging; Metal Detector for metallic contaminants in bulk and packaged products; Microwave technology for detecting physical contaminants not identifiable by X-ray or metal detectors.

The in-line leak control system performs non-destructive checks on 100% of production, guaranteeing food safety and quality of the final product. It uses IR Spectroscopy technology to detect holes or micro-holes in the packaging and/or seal, identifying any CO2 leaking from the package without affecting line speed or the internal composition of the modified atmosphere.

Yes. Seal inspection systems detect in-line organic contaminants and product residues in the sealing area of transparent, opaque or coloured trays, preventing sealing defects that could compromise product safety and shelf life.

Yes. Monobloc units are available combining X-Ray and weight control, or Metal Detector and weight control, with configurations tailored to different production capacities and formats. High-precision dynamic weighing is also available as a standalone solution.

Optical inspection systems check labels and codes applied on any side of the packaging, in both horizontal and vertical formats, verifying presence, position, readability and accuracy of the information displayed.
