In-line control and correlation of serial codes applied to the body and cap

This advanced vision system allows associating the main serial code applied to the body of the bottle with an auxiliary code placed on the top of the container, such as on the cap.

In this type of application, a unique serial code is applied to the body of each container, facilitating tracking throughout all phases of production, distribution, and regulatory verification.

Additionally, an auxiliary serial code is applied to the top of the bottle.

The system consists of a dual inspection module:

The first module uses six side cameras that capture the entire surface of the container, even without a fixed orientation, to recognize and validate the main code.

The second module consists of a camera inspecting the products from above, reading and verifying the auxiliary code placed on the top of the container.

The two codes are linked together, and the relationship is stored in the database, ensuring continuous information for subsequent processes. For example, during the aggregation into secondary packaging, the system reads the auxiliary codes visible from above once the bottles are placed in the case or shrink-wrap, maintaining the connection with their respective main codes.

The system is compatible with various printing technologies, including laser, inkjet, and UV.
UV printing, in particular, allows making the code invisible to avoid altering the packaging design. In these cases, a camera with a UV filter and a specific lamp is integrated to ensure safe and accurate detection of codes that are not visible to the naked eye.
