FAQ — FOOD TRACK & TRACE

It is a complete system that assigns a unique digital identity to each product and logistics unit, enabling full traceability across the entire supply chain. Key benefits include product safety, anti-counterfeiting, regulatory compliance, supply chain transparency, consumer engagement, and support for recall operations.

The offering covers three interconnected areas: serialization, which assigns a unique serial code to each saleable unit; aggregation, which creates hierarchical relationships between all logistics units; and software, which manages and centralises all traceability data, integrating with ERP, MES and external regulatory platforms.

Serialization is the first step in food traceability: each sales unit is assigned a unique serial number that enables accurate product identification throughout the entire supply chain. Various solutions are available depending on line layout and product type, including print and verification systems for cap and side printing, and systems for correlating codes applied to both the container body (main code) and the cap (helper code, useful for the aggregation phase).

Aggregation is the creation of hierarchical parent – hild relationships between all logistics units — individual item, bundle, case, pallet — based on unique serial codes. By scanning a single aggregated code, such as the one on a pallet, it is possible to trace all units it containssimplifying warehouse management, shipping, quality control and product recall operations.

Serial codes are applied using laser, inkjet or UV printing technologies. UV printing allows invisible marking to preserve packaging aesthetics; in this case the system includes a UV filter camera and dedicated UV lamp to ensure accurate code detection.

DIAMIND is Antares Vision Group’s integrated software ecosystem for managing product quality data and end-to-end traceability in the agri-food sector. It adapts to every process requirement through modular activation, guaranteeing complete serialization, regulatory compliance and supply chain transparency across the entire value chain.

The architecture is organised across five levels: DIAMIND LINE manages serialization, inspection and aggregation at line level; DIAMIND FACTORY centralises production data at plant level; DIAMIND WAREHOUSE manages shipments and de-aggregation and re-aggregation after the product leaves the line; DIAMIND ENTERPRISE handles communication with regulatory and ministerial platforms; DIAMIND CONNECT enables collaboration with all supply chain stakeholders, from raw material suppliers to end consumers.

Through a traceability system using serialized codes (Datamatrix, QR code, NFC, RFID) on labels and capscombined with software that monitors supply chain and sales channels. Serial numbers are linked to specific production batches intended for authorized retailers, enabling rapid identification of any deviations from the official distribution network.

By printing a dynamic QR code directly on the packaging at full production speed, consumers can scan it with a smartphone to access information on product originraw material qualityethical practices, and sustainability. Each code is software-linked to interaction rules that can be customized by region and updated over time.

Yes. The DIAMIND platform manages registration with government traceability systems, requests unique identification codes per SKU, receives encrypted codes from regulatory platforms and transmits them to in-line serialization units. The process covers single lines, single sites or multiple production sites.

Antares Vision Group supports Digital Deposit Return Schemes (DDRS) through serialization to track and manage container recyclingserialization of refillable PET bottles to ensure traceability across the entire reuse cycle, and returnable assets management to monitor reusable logistics units such as pallets, crates and containers across the supply chain.
