In the years following his degree in electrical engineering, with a specialisation in opto-electronics, he was a researcher and author of numerous scientific publications in the field of 2D and 3D vision systems, including an international patent for the optical measurement of surface roughness. In 1998, he co-founded Semtec S.r.l., an academic spin-off for the development of innovative vision systems. Since 2000, he has also been working with the IMA Group on inspection systems to ensure safety in the pharmaceutical sector. In 2003, it collaborated with the Ministry of Health on the development of a Track & Trace system to be implemented throughout the pharmaceutical supply chain. From the combination of these experiences, he founded Antares Vision in 2007, a global partner for inspection systems and Track & Trace solutions, especially for pharmaceutical companies.

Accomplished CEO with a proven track record of leading mergers & acquisitions, reorganizations, and global expansion initiatives within large multinationals – also dealing with family members of  family-controlled, publicly traded corporations –, and possessing deep expertise on the topics of the highest value to mid-sized companies, including an experience as business owner.

As the CEO of the Wire, Cable & Accessories Division ($2.900M in revenue and 9,500 employees) of Elsewedy Electric Group, initiated and spearheaded the transition from a group of separate companies to a unified entity. In detail, implemented a new centralized organizational structure and management system – encompassing hierarchy, decision flows, KPIs, data collection, processes, management tools –, along with M&A activities, while also undertaking a significant cultural transformation to address cultural resistance, which was rooted in a strong family presence and a prolonged lack of dynamism within the company

As the CEO of Prysmian’s Automotive B.U., initially strengthened the Company’s global leadership in the cable and wire industry by leading the acquisition and merger of Draka. Subsequently, managed a second pivotal strategic move involving the acquisition and merger of General Cable, that further solidified Prysmian’s status as a global leader, resulting in a BU’s revenue of €850M and a workforce of 2,300 employees.

Born and raised in Montisola, where he lives, he graduated from ITIS in electronics. He attended mechanical engineering in Brescia and then the Milan Polytechnic, continuing his studies in electronics. Before founding Semtec S.r.l. together with Emidio Zorzella, he worked in an electronics laboratory at the University of Brescia, developing sensors for controlling manufactured goods at the end of production. He has worked on the development of numerous control systems for products in the industrial sector (pharmaceuticals, food & beverage, automotive, tobacco), based on artificial vision and special sensors. In 2007, he focused his attentions on the pharmaceutical sector, founding Antares Vision together with Emidio Zorzella.

Having graduated as an electronics expert in 1991, in 1998 he started his own business experience by founding FT System S.r.l. with his partner Ferdinando Tuberti. In the initial stages of the company’s development, he managed all the commercial, technical and organisational activities. In 2009, following FT System’s entry into the Arol Group, he remained in the company structure as a minority shareholder, also holding the role of managing director of FT System. In 2009, he actively participated in the founding of the French subsidiary FT Hexagone, of which he also held the role of CEO. In 2011, he coordinated and supervised the acquisition of Lpro, a spin-off of the University of Padua, of which he became CEO, then personally supervised its integration into the group, which ended with its merger into FT System. Since 2012, he has been a member of numerous strategic committees of the Arol Group and has worked continuously on the development and consolidation of the activities of FT System’s business units in the United States and Latin America, including as President of FT System North America LLC, as well as in India, China, Spain and the United Kingdom. In September 2019, in the context of the acquisition of FT System by Antares Vision, he sold the minority stake he held in the company to the latter, while retaining his position as its CEO.
